Well hello! Long time no talk...whoops. I had no intention of going so long in between postings, but life happened and here we are. Honestly, this blog was very far down my list of priorities for the last few months. I have had a lot going on and just haven't had the energy to even try and write. I even wrote this post a month ago but didn't have it in me to share just yet. But as I settle in for fall and my workload lessens, I want to continue to write about my health journey and help anyone that may be going through their own struggles. Now feels like the right time to start sharing again.

We live in a time where everything is instant. Everything is important, everything is urgent. Our entitlement over the past two decades has become an enormous problem, but one we're not willing to admit we have. Google, Amazon, cell phones, and other technologies have convinced us that we can get whatever we want whenever we want and damned if we need to wait for it.
We've collectively lost the art of patience and that's where I see a root problem. No more are we able to wait in line without complaining, no more are we able to pass on one thing in order to reap better benefits later, no more can we acknowledge that someone that was rude to us may just be having the worst day of their life and therefore needs our grace much more than us yelling at them. You may be thinking, what does this have to do with health Alli? What does this have to do with all the chaos in the world right now? Why do you care so much about being patient? And what does this have to do with bandaids? Well...let me tell you why this is weighing so heavily on me right now and how quick "band-aid" fixes have become a main source of problems across the board. I started this blog to open more eyes to the disgusting and corrupt healthcare system we have in America. The more health struggles I go through, the wider my eyes get. The more I learn about the body and health, the more I understand how we've gotten here as a society. You see, it's really not that hard to comprehend, but you do need to be willing to open your mind to the option that maybe, just maybe, the government/big Pharma/corporations that rule this world do not have your best interest in mind. Once you can see past the lies and the deceit or even just begin to have a little bit of doubt, it's really quite easy to figure out what the root causes are of our society's problems. I'm thoroughly disgusted with the chaos happening in the world right now. The mass shootings, the anger, the hate. It's absolutely horrific. And the arguments that have come forth since, are doing us no favors in getting to a better place. Pro vs anti gun law fights are only spreading more hate, the exact opposite of what we need right now. Both sides of this argument have valid points, but the truth is, gun laws are just a band-aid to a much larger issue. But a more strict law or no laws at all are not going to stop any mentally ill person from attaining and using a gun. So the question we should really be asking is, why do we have such a high rate of mental illness in a country that is supposed to have some of the best healthcare in the world? I don't think it's any secret that Americans are gradually becoming more and more unhealthy as a whole. We're overweight, we have chronic physical health issues, we overwork ourselves and ignore our mental wellness. I believe that it all starts and ends with the food and healthcare systems we have in America. The food we're buying is loaded up with chemicals, inflammatory oils, gmos, pesticides, synthetic flavors, and ingredients that aren't made for the body to consume. The laws surrounding what can and cannot be in our food are absolutely appalling, just look at what ingredients are banned in other countries an not here. But we want fast, easy, and cheap, so chemical laden food is what we get. And we're not educated through our school systems to know how harmful these foods are for us, so we blindly trust that the food we consume is safe, when reality is actually quite the opposite. And then we wind up with some kind of ailment. We don't feel well, our bodies stop working properly, we start to have one health issue after the next. And what's our healthcare system's solution? Oh, don't worry we have a pill for that! Again, the fast, easy, cheap way out is the only option we are even given within the healthcare system. It's a band-aid fix that really only masks your symptoms and does nothing to boost your health or heal your body. It's only when you venture outside the norm and do your own research that you see how these systems are built to create an on-going cycle. Our food is making us ill, our healthcare is keeping us there. This is were we can actually start making a difference. This is where our efforts should be. Change our food and healthcare system, and we will change society for the better. We will stop producing generations that have one health problem after the next, that are depressed, that are anxious, that are mentally unstable. Yes, there should be more thorough background and health checks to anyone buying a gun. Yes, laws are not going prevent bad things from happening. But the root problem here lies within the growing number of mentally unstable people. A law is not going to stop any mentally ill person from getting or using a gun. The problem we need to fix is not whether we need another law about guns, the problem we need to fix is the mental health of our society; and the only way to do that is to take a closer look at the food we're eating and the healthcare we are given. Stop reaching for the easy band-aid solution, all that does is postpone the problem, not solve it. Start researching ingredients, start questioning companies that make money off of your illness, start taking better care of yourself. If we can all collectively become healthier in mind, body, and spirit, there is no doubt in my mind that we really could make a difference. This isn't a gun or law issue, this is a health issue. Love and Peace xoxo On my last update, I mentioned that things gut-wise were not quite right. I had visited Costa Rica in February and during my first week there I got sick and never fully recovered. I was well enough to go on about my days, but I knew something was off. I needed some legit answers so I went back to my trustworthy testing: the GI Map. Three impatient weeks later I had my answers, and they didn't surprise me in the least.
Once again, I have let several months go by without writing here. Of course I could give you excuses as to why, but it honestly doesn't really matter much. Life gets busy for all of us and some things get less attention than others. But here we are now and I'd like to give you a quick update of how my health has been over the past several months.
It's been almost 2 years since the world was shut down for "2 weeks" in order to get control of this vyrus. 2 Weeks turned into 4 weeks turned into 2 years, and we still haven't really made much progress in fighting this thing. We're still applying rules of social distancing and cloth masks while CLEARLY this isn't working. We're getting vaxene dose 1, dose 2, and booster #1 (because you know there are more coming and quickly), all while not containing the spread in any way. If dose 1 and 2 didn't work, why do we think a booster is going to be the answer?
